Better Together - 2

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!  – Psalm 133:1

I hope you believe this verse, my friends. God has brought us all together for our own good! He wants to use your life to bless the lives of others. I want to invite you to walk in that truth. Here are some simple ways to do just that every Sunday at church and also throughout the week.

Say “Hello!” When you get to church this weekend (before you even sit down), take three minutes out of your normal routine and go say hello to a person you’ve never met or someone you’ve never talked to before! (I know, terrifying, right?) Trust me, I believe in you. You can do it. And if it ends up as a disaster, then you can write me and get your money back.

Sign up to serve! It takes a village to make church happen each week, and your pastors could really use your help. There are plenty of ministries to choose from. From Hospitality to Making Coffee, from Kid’s Sunday School to Lights and Sound. Your church has something for everyone.

Join a Small Group. Does your church have Small Groups going? At our church we have dozens of Small Groups, no matter what season of life you may be in: Basecamp Series, Bible studies, Men’s Groups, Women’s Groups, Marriage and Parenting, Serving the Community . . . you name it. Find out what your church offers in Small Groups, and get involved!

Care Ministries. If you have a heart for compassion and outreach, and want to be the hands and feet of Christ, join up with others who do too! What are the ministries within your church that serve the local community and the world? Foster care? Helping the homeless? Family support? Short-term mission teams? Involvement in local schools?

Pray and ask God to see how He’s leading you in any of these ways. God has brought us together for a good reason. We really need each other. Take advantage of the amazing people God has placed in your life.
