Can God Heal Emotional Wounds? – 2

Posted by Tony Pierson on

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays, and you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.  – Malachi 4:2 NIV

After decades of suffering from suicidal thoughts and from jealousy, I experienced the Lord starting to work in these areas. Through fasting and the prayer efforts of my team and me, the Lord began to speak to me. He showed me that there was a crack in my armor where the devil was able to stab me when I let my guard down. He showed me that I had not dealt with my high school rejection in a healthy way. He then showed me a bright ray of light that welded that break until it was stronger than the steel (or whatever material spiritual armor is made of!) that surrounded it.

For the last year, I have not felt a tinge of jealousy or a second of suicidal thoughts. Praise God for His ability to heal a wound that was so old and so deep!

In Luke 8:43, just touching Jesus’ cloak healed a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. Do you believe Jesus still has that power? If you have an area in your life where there is still some heat when you talk about it, either from pain or anger, then there might still be an infection there. You may need to go back in, do some prayer surgery, and allow the Holy Spirit to heal you permanently!

I know the verse above is out of context, but after decades of bondage to a spiritual wound I didn’t even know was there, the idea of frolicking like well-fed calves was too apt to pass up. If Jesus sets you free, you will be free indeed!
