Oh, give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples. – Psalm 105: 1
Sometimes I like to pray a psalm. Join me as I look at and pray Psalm 105: 1-5. May it help us exercise the muscles of faith!
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples” (Psalm 105:1). I respond: Lord, let me open my mouth to speak and pour forth praise and thanksgiving to You.
“Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; speak of all His wonders” (Psalm 105:2). I respond: Let me be quick to thank You for big things and small.
“Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad” (Psalm 105:3). My response
“Seek the Lord and His strength” (Psalm 105:4a). In response to this command I pray, I’m seeking You, Lord. I can’t do life without You. “Seek His face continually” (Psalm 105:4b). I say to Him, I’m turning my eyes to You. “Remember His wonders which He has done, His marvels” (Psalm 105:5). To this admonition, I reply, Thank You
“Remember... the judgments uttered by His mouth” (Psalm 105:5). I respond, Thank You for the hearts You have turned, the peace You bring—thank You, Lord. I do thank You for Your judgments. Thank You also that You bring repentance, forgiveness, and a new life in You. Thank You for Your everlasting, overflowing love for me. Let that love change me and turn me to You today.
Have you thanked the Lord today? Take a moment and thank God for His abundant blessings. Let that thankfulness to God permeate your life. Thank Him because He is so worthy.
